Gordon Bottomley was an English author, known primarily for his verse plays. Born in Yorkshire, he took a job as a bank clerk, but had to give it up due to a tubercular condition, which contributed to his comparatively quiet life. He was an accomplished poet, and devoted himself to reviving the art of verse drama, writing some thirty plays, almost all of them in verse. He remains a gifted and visionary Georgian author. Roger (Gilbert) Lancelyn Green was born November 2, 1918, in Norwich, England, and died October 8, 1987, in London, England. He was an editor and anthologist, and also wrote books both for children and for adults. He edited journals on Kipling and Sherlock Holmes, assisted in editing the letters of Lewis Carroll, and translated Sophocles and Euripides.
